Adam Cooke - Morgan McKinley

Adam has a BA in Languages for International Communication from Dublin City University specialising in Japanese. Adam spent 3 years working in Japan as a Coordinator for International Relations on the JET programme. Adam saw the Fellowship as an ideal opportunity to study for a Masters while gaining further professional experience in the region. Adam was sponsored by Morgan McKinley and was based in Singapore for the duration of his work placement.

 

Adam is currently based in Singapore working in the Media Investment Industry as a Digital Recruiter for GroupM.

Mark Dolan - DPS Engineering

Mark graduated from University College Dublin with a BSc in Economics and Finance. Following graduation he moved to China and studied Chinese at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and having spent two years there, speaks Mandarin Chinese. Mark decided to pursue the Farmleigh Fellowship as it offered him an excellent opportunity to develop his career in Asia. Mark was sponsored by DPS Engineering and was based in Shanghai for the duration of his work placement.

 

Mark is currently based in Shanghai as Vice President of Business Development with the Taxback Group.

Bernard Ferris - Pfizer

Bernard has a BEng (Mechanical) from University College Dublin. While in university, Bernard completed an internship as an engineer with Kentz in Doha and following graduation joined Vayu Ltd where he worked as an energy analyst. Bernard joined the Farmleigh Fellowship as he wanted to pursue a Master’s in business and felt that the mix of work and study in Asia suited his career aspirations. Bernard was sponsored by Pfizer and was based in Singapore for the duration of his work placement.

 

Bernard is currently based in Singapore as a Regional Planning Analyst for Apple.

Ciaran Gallagher - Glanbia Nutritionals

Ciaran has a BA in economics from Trinity College Dublin. Prior to the Farmleigh Fellowship, Ciaran worked in Washington DC for US Senator Charles Schumer of New York as an intern. Ciaran was attracted to the Fellowship due to its practical work element and unique mentoring program. Ciaran was sponsored by Glanbia Nutritionals and was based in Singapore and Shanghai for his work placement.

 

Ciaran is currently based in Shanghai in the Agri-business Industry as a Business Development Analyst for Glanbia Nutritionals.

Paul Hanlon - Ireland House

Paul holds a BComm International with Italian from University College Dublin. Paul has worked for Enterprise Ireland in Italy and more recently with the consultancy firm International Development Ireland (IDI) in Bahrain. He saw the Fellowship as the ideal work-study platform to fast track his business career in Singapore. Paul worked on a project for Ireland House with the IDA and was based in Singapore for the duration of his work placement.

 

Paul is currently based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in the Telecommunications Industry as a Business Development Manager for ezetop.

James Hayes - Diageo

James holds a BComm from NUI Galway and an MBS International Business from the Michael Smurfit Business School. James has worked with AIB Merchant Services and later at Google AdWords and felt that the Fellowship provided a superb opportunity to gain direct business experience with companies active on the ground in Asia. James was sponsored by Diageo and was based in Singapore for the duration of his work placement.

 

James is currently based in Sydney working as an Analytical Lead for Google.

Ciara Hickey - CRH

Ciara has a BComm from UCC and is ACA qualified. Ciara worked with Deloitte Consulting for over three years before embarking on the Farmleigh Fellowship programme. During her time with Deloitte, Ciara worked with leading ISEQ, FTSE and Nasdaq plcs and also trained as a chartered accountant. Ciara was sponsored by CRH Plc and was based in Beijing for the duration of her work placement.

 

Ciara is currently in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA as a Director/Finance Leader for Mastercard.

Mark Hogan - Diageo

Mark graduated from University College Cork with a BComm. Following graduation he worked in the finance department at EMC in Cork before leaving to travel around the world. He returned to work at EMC before accepting a place on the Fellowship as he saw it as a great opportunity to work abroad and gain experience in exciting new markets. Mark was sponsored by Diageo and was based in Indonesia for the duration of his work placement.

 

Mark is currently based in Jakarta working in Consumer Marketing for Diageo.

Odhran Irwin - Cut-e

Odhran has a BA in Psychology from the NUI Galway. Following graduation, he joined a UNESCO-awarded online education provider in a marketing capacity. He has also held a directorship role with the Junior Chamber International, Galway and worked in sales and marketing in the United States and Australia. He chose to embark on the Fellowship as it offered a unique opportunity to study at one of Asia's leading business schools. Odhran was sponsored by Cut-e and was based in Singapore for the duration of his work placement.

 

Odhran is currently based in London as an EMEA Project Manager for IBM Kenexa.

Ciarán Lawlor - Information Mosaic

Ciarán holds a BSc in Financial Mathematics and Economics from the NUI Galway. He was attracted to the Fellowship because of the unique opportunity to study in a world class academic environment in addition to the chance to work for an international company in the world’s most exciting business region. Ciarán was sponsored by Information Mosaic and was based in Singapore for the duration of his work placement.

 

Ciaran is currently based in Singapore as a Business Development Manager for Skyscanner.

Matthew Maloney - Microvision

Matthew holds a BA in Business and Economics from Trinity College Dublin as well as an MSc in Management Consultancy from The Michael Smurfit Business School. Matthew believed that undertaking this programme would lead to a deep understanding of doing business in Asia and equip him with the knowledge needed to build a successful career. Matthew was sponsored by Microvision and was based in Singapore for the duration of his work placement.

 

Matthew is currently based in London as an Associate in the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Ruth Mannion - CIDF

Ruth has a BA in European Studies in Russian and French from Trinity College Dublin. Following graduation, Ruth worked in Moscow for Bord Bia whilst also obtaining a post graduate certificate in International Business Development from the Dublin Institute of Technology and chose the Fellowship to gain professional experience working in Asia. Ruth was sponsored by CIDF and was based in Shanghai for the duration of her work placement.

 

Ruth is currently based in Singapore as a Marketing Specialist for the Active Network.

John McLaughlin - ESB International

John has a BA in Business and Economics from Trinity College Dublin. Following graduation, he joined an Irish consultancy firm as part of the IBEC Export Orientation programme and has worked for them in Ireland, Germany and Buenos Aires, Argentina. John believed the Fellowship will give him a deeper understanding of Asian business culture with the aim of becoming an expert in his choosen field. John was sponsored by ESB International and was based in Singapore and New Delhi, India for his work placement.

John is currently based in Singapore as a Commercial Director for Cut-e Consulting Singapore.

David Monaghan - PM Group

David holds a degree in Manufacturing Engineering from ITT Dublin and after graduating, traveled to Shanghai to represent Ireland in a Technical International Exchange program. David has worked as a product and applications engineer and has also pursued his own entrepreneurial ambitions forming a number of successful businesses. David accepted a place on the Fellowship in order to explore business opportunities in Asia. David was sponsored by Project Management Group and was based in Singapore for his work placement.

David is currently based in Singapore as a Project Engineer for the Project Management Group.

James Murphy - Intuition

James has a BA in business and economics from Trinity College Dublin and an MSc in management consultancy from the Smurfit Business School. Prior to the Fellowship, he worked as a project manager for ZAPA technology. James had hoped to start a career in Asia and believed the Farmleigh Fellowship is the perfect launch pad for this ambition. James was sponsored by Intuition and was based in Singapore for the duration of his work placement.

 

James is currently based in Singapore as an Asia Pacific Business Development Director for TestRocker Inc.

Alison Nee - Treasury Holdings

Alison graduated from University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Actuarial and Financial Studies and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries. Following graduation, she joined Norwich Union International and more recently, worked with Canada Life Assurance Company. Alison was sponsored by Treasury Holdings and was based in Shanghai for the duration of her work placement.

 

Alison is currently based in Cologne in the Reinsurance Industry working as a Valuation Actuary for Scor.

Laura O’Connell - Ocuco

Laura has a BA in Economics and German, an MSc in Financial Economics from University College Cork and an MSc in International Management from Trinity College Dublin. Laura felt that joining the Farmleigh Fellowship was a fast and effective way to become fully immersed in Asian business and culture. Laura was sponsored by Ocuco and was based in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia for the duration of her work placement.

 

Laura is currently based in Singapore working in the Consumer Health Industry with Symrise.

Denise O’Riordan - Edco

Denise has a BA in English and Sociology from University College Cork and an MA in International Journalism from Dublin Institute of Technology. She has worked as a freelance journalist and researcher and has also spent time working in China. Denise pursued the Fellowship as it combines her interest in Asia with business. Denise was sponsored by Edco, a member of Smurfit Kappa Group Plc, and was based in Singapore for the duration of her work placement.

 

Denise is currently based in Dublin working as a Corporate Communications Coordinator for Smurfit Kappa.

Fiona O’Shea - Dublin Institute of Technology

With a BA in Human Resource Management and over eleven years of business experience, Fiona had been based in Singapore for almost three years working as a HR Specialist. She saw the Fellowship as the ideal way of widening her long-term career opportunities in international business development. Fiona was sponsored by the Dublin Institute of Technology and was based in Singapore for the duration of her work placement.

 

Fiona is currently based in Singapore as an Asia Pacific HR Manager for NBCUniversal Inc.

Mícheál O’Leary - Abbott

Mícheál has a BBS Management from Trinity College Dublin and an MBS in Human Resource Management from Dublin City University. Following his Masters, he joined the teaching staff at DCU Business School and was also a member of the LiNK Research Centre at DCU. He hoped that the Fellowship will open many doors enabling him to continue to work at an international level. Mícheál was sponsored by Abbott Laboratories and was based in Singapore for the duration of his work placement.

 

Micheal is currently based in Singapore as a Lecturer/Academic Staff at the Centre for Enterprise and Communication at the Republic Polytechnic.

John Ring - The Farmleigh Fellowship

John has a BA in economics from University College Cork and a MSc in economics from Trinity College Dublin. After graduation, John entered economic consultancy with DTZ first as an Assistant Economic Consultant before being promoted to the position of Economic Consultant. He sees the Fellowship as a fantastic way of building up a high-level network in Asia. John's sponsoring company was the Farmleigh Fellowship and was based in Singapore for the duration of his work placement.

Danielle Scully - PCH International

Danielle graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a BA in Business Studies and Political Science. The Fellowship attracted her as it offered her the chance to learn about and immerse herself in new cultures, giving her opportunity to up-skill through work and study in two entirely different Asian environments, Singapore and China. Danielle was sponsored by PCH International and was based in Shenzhen, China for the duration of her work placement.

 

Danielle is currently based in Dublin in Public Relations as an Account Executive for pr360.

Claire Tracey - Ireland House

Claire holds a BA in French and Italian from Trinity College Dublin and a MA in Translation Studies from Dublin City University. She has worked with Dublin City Council Public Libraries, been a restaurant manager and worked with a translation company. Claire pursued the Fellowship in order to gain extensive knowledge of international business in Asia. Claire worked on a project for Ireland House with Enterprise Ireland and was based in Singapore for the duration of her work placement.

 

Claire is currently based in Dublin working in Alumni and Development for the Trinity Foundation of the Trinity College Dublin.
