Farmleigh Fellowship announces appointment of Ms. Una McGirr as Executive Director

The Board of Directors of The Farmleigh Fellowship is pleased to announce the appointment of Una McGirr as Executive Director.
Speaking of the appointment, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Fred Combe said, “I am delighted to welcome Una as our new Executive Director. She brings an incredible wealth of experience and passion to the role. Following our recent strategic review, Una will be the key catalyst in reaching the ambitious targets the board has set itself.”
Una commented, “The Farmleigh Fellowship has become a valuable and proven component in Ireland’s growing focus on economic and cultural expansion in Asia. The recent positive announcements of the establishment of additional embassies and consulates in the region comes at a great time for the Fellowship, given our own objectives to expand and further develop the Programme in the region. Prior to her appointment as Executive Director, Una was most recently Managing Director of Hume Brophy Asia, an Irish-owned corporate communications and public relations. She spent 13 years with British Telecom plc in a range of senior leadership roles in London, Brussels and Dublin, including Director of European Media Relations and Public Affairs. She was subsequently Director of Communications at BT Ireland, with strategic communications responsibility for the organization in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Una is an Advisory Member of the Irish Chamber of Commerce inSingapore. She has been living in Singapore for six years with her husband and two children.
